Berry & Greenhouse Film: frequently asked questions

What thickness is your berry and greenhouse film?

Our berry film rolls, including Green Sphere berry film, are 180 micron (0.18 mm). Aster+FILM is a 200 micron (200um) greenhouse film. Thicker film is generally stronger, but service life depends mostly on UV stabilisation and installation. See how to choose greenhouse film.

What roll sizes are available?

Berry film comes in 11.2m wide rolls in 390m, 490m and 600m lengths, plus an 8m x 60m roll. Green Sphere berry film comes in 11.2m x 600m and 5.5m x 75m, and Aster+FILM in 12m x 500m. For other sizes, contact us.

What does 55% DIF mean on Aster+FILM?

DIF refers to light diffusion: the film scatters light as it passes through, so it reaches deeper into the crop with fewer hot spots. 55% is the diffusion level stated for this film. Aster+FILM is also anti-drip, anti-dust and UV Open.

Which film should I use for a berry tunnel?

Many Australian berry growers use 180 micron film on tunnels, choosing the roll width to suit the tunnel span with enough extra for fixing. For permanent or more exposed structures, a heavier 200 micron film may suit better. Tell us your structure size and crop and we can recommend a roll.
